Meet the Team at Chrysalis


Managing Director: Colin Mackell

Colin is the Managing Director & Founder of CSA Ltd having held this role since 2003.  He holds a 1st Degree in Psychology & Health Science since graduating in 1998.  He is a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS) Registration Number 188702 which confers eligibility for the graduate basis of chartered membership; A Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy, (MBACP) Registration Number 579105.  He is also a Registered Manager at level 4 (the statutory requirement for those managing a care setting) and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Addiction Psychology & Advanced Addiction Counselling graduating from LSBU (London South Bank University) in 2010.  Colin is also holding a Post Graduate Certificate in Existential Psychology and Psychotherapy gained from the New School of Psychotherapy & Counselling which he gained in 2015. 
His areas of special interest involve management of specialised therapeutic clinical interventions, relapse management, detoxification, management of dual diagnosis within adaptive and responsive therapeutic services.  He has worked as consultant, manager and practitioner in various settings such as the 3rd sector, residential and quasi residential rehab and community based specialised psychologically informed supported accommodation environments.

He also has extensive Housing Management and Intensive Housing Management experience in both the private and statutory sector and has managed a number of developments and adaptations personally as a landlord and developer and professionally as Chrysalis' MD.  Understanding the role of Chrysalis as an RP within a regulatory context and its need to expand and grow is his fundamental responsibility to chrysalis whilst ensuring that the standards of the organisation are fully met and translated throughout its range of good quality specialist supported accommodation projects.


Director of Housing & Business Development: Maxine Gall

Maxine’s career started in hospitality with leading, global organisation Hilton Worldwide. Maxine spent many years managing high profile events and revenue management. This included forecasting, pricing and the supporting of brand transitions. Maxine has a history of driving market share whilst working in a highly audited and pressurised environment.

Her ability to develop high performing teams across multiple sites and deliver the required results is what attracted Chrysalis to Maxine.


Director of Buildings & Technical Maintenance: Mathew Bennett

Matt has over 25 years experience in the construction industry and specialises in project management. Having worked previously for Chrysalis in a variety of roles, Matt fully understands the Supported Accommodation model and how to manage a portfolio of properties. Matt has a 24-year-old son who has Cerebral Palsy and Autism, so personally understands the need for good quality homes for societies most vulnerable.


Non Executive:  Janusz Klich

Janusz is a lawyer qualified to practice in Poland (since 2006) and in the UE zone, specialised in trans- jurisdictional regulations. He is a Polish Legal Advisor (on the roll under No. OP-785/06) and a Legal Advisor enlisted by CCBE - Représentant les advocates d'Europe (License No: 4800-02665). In 2012 he was also admitted by the Solicitor Regulation Authority to practice as a Registered European Lawyer in England & Wales. With his professional credentials, Janusz has attendance rights at the courts in Poland, The European Courts in Luxembourg and The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.

He started his legal career in 2002 serving as a public prosecutor, responsible for investigating tax crimes and representing the interests of the Ministry of Finances. Later, he was captured by a local law firm where he worked as a litigator and legal advisor. He dealt with trans-border family law cases (divorces, separations, children abductions, litigation concerning child maintenance and parental rights and custody agreements).

From there, Janusz moved to the UK where he became legal counsel for foreign service providers within the construction industry. He also worked for financial organisations regulated by the FCA. Later, he was working for London branch of US law firm Morgan, Lewis & Buckius where he led a team of foreign solicitors investigating breaching of embargos.

Currently Janusz works for UK branch of a global outsourcing company - Integreon Managed Solutions. He has direct responsibility for delivery of legal services in this country.

Januz’s non-profit activity was always focused on helping members of a local Polish community, especially those experiencing domestic violence. Since Opoka’s inception in 2013 he acts as its ad hoc consultant, supporting this organisation thru guiding on legal issues pertain to family and employment law, welfare and migration.


Non Executive: Gillian Borg

Gillian comes from a strong banking background in the secure lending environment and later developed her expertise to encompass credit control. She is also a specialised debt management consultant to individuals and businesses and helps those who require her services to liaise with creditors and negotiate a range of options to enable them to resolve their difficulties. She is conversant with Property Land Transaction requirements and other statutory debt management instruments such as debtor arrangements, IVA's & Bankruptcy.
